LaBelle China's ornate gilded floral tea pot from the late 1800's is being offered for your consideration. This tea pot is bright white, shiny and in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or hairlines with approximately 75% of the gold trim intact. It is signed on the bottom La Belle China and was produced by the Wheeling Pottery Co. of Wheeling, W. Virginia between 1893 - 1903. The tea pot is a substantial size at 7 inches tall to the top of the finale and 8 3/4 inches wide from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout. There are the age typical stilt marks, dust bumps, glaze irregularities and age appropriate crazing associated with this era's pottery / ironstone. The yellow flowers are very much like forget-me-nots; the mold for this tea pot will look very familiar to those of you who are familiar with the name LaBelle associated with their famous Flow Blue pattern, as it was used their too, as were most their molds cross used in all their designs! A wonderful late Victorian era teapot and a prize for any collection or decor use ! (986)
