Late Victorian English double sweetmeats castor or open double master salt c.1900, from the turn of last century is being offered for your consideration. The ball footed frame appears to be silver plate or electroplated nickel silver, it is signed, Made in England; we do not find the typical hallmarks ( E.P.N.S. ) etc. The pressed glass shallow serving bowls have a pinwheel design and ruffled frosted border, they measuring 5 inches wide, 1 1/2 inches deep and have a 3 inch base. The overall dimensions are 10 1/2 inches long by 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide. It is in very nice condition; a few light scratches on the silver metal frame, as well as, a few inside the bowls; no chips or cracks. A wonderful server for your after-dinner mints, small chocolates or other after dinner sweet treats; the large loop handle allows it to be easily carried for individual hand serving, if desired . A lovely conversation starter at your buffet table to use for the salt and ground pepper at your next gourmet meal with friends and family; be prepared for the conversations it will start! (605b)
