Marcel Boucher's pin clip with deep sapphire blue invisible-set baguette pastes in a rhodium plated setting is being offered for your consideration. The un-foiled paste rhinestones all appear to be original and in excellent vintage condition. This is a very, feminine and classy; signed, Boucher brooch / pin / clip also signed with inventory number 3165 ( any dark areas seen other than the blue rhinestones in the photos are shadows and reflections ).
Although the term 'fur clip' is the commonly used name for this type of brooch, it is a misnomer. The patent for this two pronged mechanism was titled pin / clip and it has prongs strong enough to pierce fur or leather, hence the nick name. They actually work well anywhere a regular brooch would be appropriate. Dress clips are very versatile; they can be worn on pockets or use them to dress up a hand bag or any where a regular brooch would be worn. If your concerned about security, stick pin clutches work great as do plain rubber backs from pierce earrings. A fabulous piece of history and a gorgeous piece of jewelry to wear now and pass down to future generations!
The clip could easily be mistaken for the real thing, as was typical of the work of Marcel Boucher, a classic French jewelry designer who apprenticed under Cartier in France before moving to the United States. It measures 1 1/2 inches long by 11/16 inch wide. On very close inspection only very light wear to the very shiny rhodium plating is notable ( any dark areas seen in the photos, other than the rhinestones, are shadows and reflections) This is an extremely shiny rhodium plated brooch / pin / clip. The prongs function properly with a lot of spring and are sharp. This beauty from 1950 will become a favorite in your collection and will grace many ensembles in your vintage or today's fashion wardrobes with unmistakable style and grace! (180b)
