These are pretty interesting twin dolls. The porcelain mold is the 1989 John UFDC convention doll. The dolls are both marked John '89. However, as you can see they have been redressed as boy and girl twins, and so cute at that. Their clothing is really beautifully made. The boy is dressed in a pair of dress pants with a belt, white long sleeved shirt and gray wool jacket and cap. He also has black socks and shoes. He has the same curly wig that the convention doll had. She does too.
She is dressed in a printed cotton dress, white slip and pantaloons. Over the dress is a lovely gray wool coat trimmed in pink "fur". There is also a matching muff and and hat with puffy ends. To finish the outfit are fishnet stocking and pink shoes.
All pieces have snap fasteners. The jacket and coat are lined as is the girl's hat and muff. Inside the coat and jacket are labels that say handmade by Patricia Grover. The tag that was on her arm says "UFDC 1989 St. Louis John w. Clendenien." Each doll has a cloth middle with porcelain shoulders and heads; The legs and arms are almost totally porcelain.
Such a nice set with beautiful clothing. Not played with.
