This is a lovely, rare and unusual first U.S.A. edition of a French children's book called Wild Animals at Home by Marguerite Reynier. It was published by Artists & Writers Guild, Poughkeepsie in 1935. It is the authorized American edition and is a translation of the French edition of 1934 published by Flammarion in Paris. Illustrations are by F. Rojankovsky. It has 18 unpaginated pages and measures almost 13" by 11 1/2". It has hardboard covers.
There is an editor's note by edith Kovar on the back of the front cover. The book is in very good condition with few signs of shelf wear---no tears or writing on it and the three staples are strong, though they may be rusting a little.
The book includes wolves, bison, elk, boar, tapir, llama, gorilla, ant eater, jaguar, mouflon, and the dromedary.
Such a lovely book and in such great condition. Please ask questions if you have them.
