A lovely very old children's book entitled, 'Stories For Boys And Girls', published by the Mc Loughlin Brothers, New York. Although the book is undated the Rose Bud Series dates to the early 20th century, about 1912 for this book, #2174.
This children's book is filled with many stories and great black and white illustrations. The stories include; Joey's Exploit, Uncle Ralph, A Strange Ferry, A Bird Song, The Pic-Nic, A Little Story, An October Day, and Priscilla and the Partridge. It has 32 un-numbered pages and 25 wonderful illustrations.
The cover features a lithograph of three children eating at a table and smiling broadly.
The overall condition of the antique children's book is good, although the corners are bumped and the cover has wear from handling. The pages have browned but are strong and turn with ease. They give a wonderful antique appearance to this edition along with the black illustrations, just fun and sweet! The book is a hardcover and measures, 7 1/2" x 9 1/2". At some point it was mended to hold the binding.
This is an adorable antique children's book that is both a pleasure to read and collect! Such a nice addition to a collection with beautiful illustrations.
