This is a very nice over-sized book for children. It measures 14" by 10 1/2" and is copyrighted 1937. The inscription in pencil on one of the end pages reads, "To Thelma from Mother, December 25 1939." The stories are compiled by Viola Ruth Lowe with colored pictures by Carolyn Haywood. It was published by Whitman Publishing Company, Racine, Wisconsin.
There are 124 pages, and of course, 100 stories. Each story has illustration, mostly black and white, but there are full page colored ones too. Here are sampling of some of the titles: The Fairy Dance, Peter and the Fox, Johnny's Reward, The Lion and the Mouse, Daisy's Day Dream, The Busy Body, and many more. Condition: No dust cover. The first full page drawing, which was in black and white was colored in, the only one in the whole book. The pages have a tiny bit of foxing around the edges and there may be a few small tears on the edges of some pages, but not many. Because the book is large it has a slight bow.
Please look at the pictures to see the condition is very good for a book this old and the cover and colored illustration are so fine.
