Delightful vintage black little girl doll. Circa late 1940's. Made in England. Maker unknown. This sweet, 11", little girl is all original. She has a hand-painted pressed felt mask face. Such a darling expression with puffy cheeks and side glancing eyes. Her body is made of dark brown velvet. Torso and legs are one piece with attached arms. Her arms are fixed. She has individually stitched fingers and toes. The bottom of her left foot is tagged with a Made in England woven tag. Her wig is black mohair and styled in two braids. She has a sweet, pigeon toed stance. She is originally dressed in lace trimmed, ribbon accented cotton print dress. Underneath is a lace trimmed taffeta onesie. She wears a white felt hat with red trimming. Shoes are made of leather and tie in front.
She is clean and ready for immediate display. There is a slight indent to her right cheek. The ribbons on her braids and right shoes have been replaced with suitable ribbon. She has no bad or unusual odors, and comes from a non-smoking environment. If anyone knows who made her I would love to know.
