This wonderful, 12 piece set of vanity bottles was likely taken on travels around the globe in the early 20th century. The set has 12 pieces Including a toothbrush holder, Hatpin holder, 6 small bottles, 2 Jars, a soap dish and a small box filled with cotton. Each piece of glass has a paneled design. All of the bottles are cut glass, with the panels cut into the surface of the piece. The two jars are pressed glass. All of the silver, the lids and the two smaller boxes, are a chrome type finish.
This set was purchased last year on a trip to France.
Condition is very good. There are one or two minor flaws to note. The lid of the Toothbrush holder does have a tiny split on the rim, so it's a little loose. One of the smaller bottles is broken at the neck, but I chose to include it as it goes with the set. All of the other pieces are free of chips and cracks and show just a modicum of light wear from age.
This set would make an excellent accent in a guest bathroom, or a great set for travelling with in this modern age of 4 ounce limits. It could also be used to fill a travelling vanity case that has lost it's contents over the years.
