American Brilliant Cut Glass Candle Holder Antique Early 1900s Crystal

This single, antique, cut glass candle holder has been an interesting research project, and while it's not in perfect condition it would make a great research or collection piece for the avid American Brilliant Cut Glass collector.

When I first purchased this piece I didn't think I would likely ever identify it's origins, and now I have several possible origins to choose from.

In "The Glass Candlestick Book. Volume Two" by Felt and Stoer, they identify a Heisey candlestick that was a copy of cut glass pieces sold in the first decade of the 20th century. They display images from American companies JD Bergen, CF Monroe, Pitkin & Brooks Sibour pattern as well as Val St Lambert in Belgium. Most of these are identified as producing a 7.5" tall candlestick. The piece that I am offering is 7" tall but this variation is not unusual in hand made antique glassware. The only one of the images that clearly show a hollow stem to the candleholder, is the JD Bergen piece. So i'm leaning towards that as the identification for this candle holder.

As mentioned above this piece does have some damage (shown). There are no chips, but there are some cracks in the side of the candle cup. The glass is still intact and stable.

This piece measures 7" in height and has a 3 1/2" diameter, hexagonal base with a polished concave pontil in the center.
