This exquisite piece of antique amber glass was produced by the Central Glass company in 1885 and is part of their #769 line, called Rope and Thumbprint. The covered compote features several patterns with square blocks on the foot, thumbprints on the body and lid and a woven rope design around the rim.
This piece measures 9 1/2" in height and 6" in diameter.
In excellent condition this piece has no chips, nicks or cracks and barely any sign of wear or age at all. It is so impeccable I was surprised to learn that it was over 140 years old. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
