Have you ever wondered what it would have been like, to travel Europe in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras? This framed set of Antique menus are sure to transport you there in an instant.
In 1893 you'll travel in style on The Ship Greenwich, in the company of S. Heilbut Esquire. on Sunday, the 25th of June you'll enjoy am eight course mean of the finest French cuisine, it's very in vogue don't you know. Your travels will then take you to an undisclosed location where the menus feature small, stamp like images of a lady and gentleman. perhaps you're attending the occasion of their marriage. The years pass and in 1904 you find yourself at another elegant restaurant, a gilded cloverleaf adorns the menu along with the letters B E at the top. Oxtail soup to begin followed by Salmon or Beef that will simply melt in your mouth. Your tour ends in London, attending a meeting of the Indian Cavalry Club at the Whitehall Rooms of the Hotel Metropole. It's May 29th 1912 and the 9 course meal is still distinctly french in flavour.

This set of 4 antique menus have been mounted and framed with care, originally as a gift to a lover of art and fine cookery. The set would make a wonderful accent to any dining room or kitchen, or a special addition to the walls of a restaurant.
I have not removed the menus from the frame but they all appear to be in good condition. The Cloverleaf menu has writing on the reverse side but I cannot make it out from the little that shows through. The frame measures 21 1/2" long and 12 1/2" in height. It too is in excellent condition.
