This interesting Cut Glass Paperweight dates back to the American Brilliant period of glassware in the late 1800s. It's an unusual piece of Brilliant Period cut glass, the only paperweights I've seen up to now have been a book shape with the traditional hobstar design on it. This piece is a pear shape with all over scalloped cuts and a squared base. It is hollow on the inside.
Measuring 3 3/4" tall and 2 3/4" diagonally across the base it is in wonderful condition though it does have some minor nicks from age but no chips or cracks at all.
