This beautiful pair of solid bronze bookends is called "Home's Hearth" They were made ca. 1935: they measure 5 1/2 inches tall, 4 3/4 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches deep. This is an excellent and highly detailed bronze casting. Beside the ship on top there is a pipe on a stand. The detail of the fireplace tools, the andirons, flames, bucket of logs, and curled up cat are all great. They weigh over 4 lbs. each. On the rarity scale, these are very rare: Seldom seen even by experienced antiquers; infrequently available, even at large shows.
