This is a very rare find. It is a hand painted and hand crafted solid teak Chinese junk boat presented to Col. S. W. Minor. It was presented by K. S. Tai on april 23 1935 to Col. Minor. He entered the service o July 25, 1917 and was commander of the 120th Infantry. On September 18, 1920 he was awarded the distinguished service cross for valiant service to his country while in France. He and his unit captured many towns and prisoners. He was originally from Durham North Carolina. The two masts are present but the old junk sails are gone. The ship is in great over all condition but could use some minor repairs and of course new sails. There is a silver plaque on one end with the presentation information. This would make a rare and spectacular piece when restored, it has a great history. 44" length - 14" depth - 18" height - 45" height with sails.
