Picassiette was a type of decoration from Provence in the late 19th/early 20th century, using pieces of broken fired pottery- mainly plates, cups and saucers -to create a decorative mosaic. Nice examples are becoming increasingly rare to find . This antique pottery jug is covered with broken pieces of old flow blue, majolica and oriental china pieces. It is in excellent condition and stands 9" tall - 7 1/2" diameter. It is extraordinarily well hand crafted. Never been on the market since I bought it over 30 years ago.
