This wonderful old book bank is in great vintage condition. And apparently it is a rare one. It has a calendar on the inside with the day and month showing in the slots on the outside cover. Underneath this it reads " Save a Coin Each Day - Keep The Calendar Up to Date ". Apparently each time you slide in a coin it will change the numerical date and once the month is completed it will also change the month. I have not put in 30 coins to make sure that this is the case. The binding reads " Book of Thrift - Made in USA - Banthrico Inc. Chicago ill." The top has a slot that reads " A Dime a Day Keeps it up to Date. The page side has a slot for larger coins and a round hole to roll up and insert paper money. The outside cover is a green leather texture with brass tabs at each corner. 4 1/2" tall - 3 1/4" wide - 1" deep.
