Uniquely Distinctive, One-Of-A-Kind Italian Moretti Glass, Artisan Lampwork Beaded Dangle Earrings
The Lampwork Beads are U.S. Artisan handcrafted and properly kiln annealed (the Lampwork Artisan is located in New York). The Lampwork beads measure 1/2 inch in height x 3/4 Inch in width. The beads are Hollow ! lending to a substantial in size bead, but extremely light weight - the lampwork technique used to create these stunning beads, involves crafting each bead from the outer edges toward the center (the heat inside of the bead, once the ends are joined, puffs the beads into their smooth hollow shape) ... this technique is very cool, as lampwork beads, are typically created from a base core, with glass being layered over an underlying layer of molten glass ... after the deep rich purple hollow bead was created, the addition of pink spring time florals, with yellow centers, and subtle vinery, was added, adorning and dancing around each of the beads .... hand wire wrapped on Sterling Silver with accenting facet cut Swarovski Crystal (in Pink).
Suspended from Sterling Silver Domed Motif, elongated earring wire, these beautiful and stunning, One-Of-A-Kind Artisan Lampwork earrings measure 2 1/8 Inches in Length.
(photographed in natural lighting - any small white spots / streaks on the beads are only photograph reflection spots and do not actually appear on the beads - nor do any darkened / black spots on the sterling silver - these are only reflections from my camera)
If you are new to Glass Lampwork Art, each bead is Individually hand crafted by heating solid glass rods to a molten state - the beads are created by wrapping and layering the molten glass around a steel rod (which becomes the bead hole). Depending on the skill of the Glass Lampwork Artisan, the end result can be phenomenal ! Lampworking involves carefully manipulating hot molten glass ... and no paint or painting is involved !
We live in such a mass produced world that it is easy to forget that gifted glass artisan's are sitting in their studio's, creating beads at their torch, one at at time (and that their talent comes from years of practice as they refine their techniques). None of the lampwork beads that I use in my designs and creations are from a bead store and/or a craft store ... I purchase my lampwork beads directly from skilled glass lampwork artisans, that live in the U.S.
