Here I have a really nice antique wax doll c1860s. She is a wax over papier mache with a molded hat and feather on her head. She has a round face with brown paper weight eyes. She is a shoulder head on a cloth body with wooden hands, and wood feet made to look like boots painted green to match her outfit. Her wonderful outfit is All Original including the pantaloons and slip. But unfortunately it does have some issues. The dress is pale green and I believe made of satin. In the skirt part it has started to slit in some areas. Someone made a repair in one area ( I bought the day this way, see photo). The top part of the outfit is perfect. There are no stains or odors on the outfit. I am not a sewer or a repair person so I buy the dolls the way I get them.
Her face has the typical lines and cracks like you normally see on these dolls, and the molded hat has lost some of its original color. Maybe someone who repairs dolls can repaint the color back on. All in all, for her age she is a very nice doll and the outfit is really not in bad shape, again for its early age. Comes from a smoke free home.
