A gorgeous, Intense Red Ruby (sometimes referred to as a Pigeon Blood Ruby) of approximately 1.10 carats is oval cut and faceted. The Ruby is asymmetrically set in a nest of round, Brilliant and Single cut Diamonds with a total carat weigh of .56 carats.
This ring dates to the mid 20th century when Palladium was all the rage for mounting upscale gemstones. Both costly and challenging to work with, the Palladium trend did not last very long, but there is something cool and sensuous about it that neither white gold or platinum compete with.
CONDITION: In overall excellent vintage condition with just the expected light historic wear. The Ruby is exceptionally fine, vibrant & rich, red Pigeon Blood. Diamonds total .56 carat of VS-SI2 F-G-H round Brilliant and Single Cut and faceted. A bespoke ring, this was custom crafted in Bermuda, circa 1950. Marked inside the shank: PALL and the symbol for Palladium
