A beautiful Diamond set Platinum brooch dates to about 1940 and consists of a ribbon of Diamonds with a spray of 3 open flowers, set with round, faceted precious gemstone throat of about .50 carat each including one Emerald, one Blue Sapphire and one Ruby at the throat of the flower.
The pin measures approximately 2.00 inches X 1.25 inches and closes with its original tube lock and pin.
CONDITION: In overall excellent vintage condition showing only minute evidence of historic wear to note. The three colored precious gemstone (Ruby, Emerald and Blue Sapphire) total approximately 1.45 carats. The gemstones are transparent, eye clean, moderately included, round, faceted. Good cuts. The 36 Diamonds total .44 carat for a total carat gemstone weight of 1.93 carats (by gauge and formula.) Round, Brilliant Cut. G-H, VSI. The custom crafted brooch weighs 12.1 grams and is marked and tested to Platinum. Circa 1935 - 1940, origin is unknown.
