An exquisite Edwardian Platinum pin center set with one .045 carat Old European Diamond in an elaborate pierced, engraved and filigree mount. Embellished with 2 Carre Cut (square) Blue Sapphires totaling 0.30 carat and 2 collet set Diamonds totaling 0.10 carat, the pin measures 3.25 inches long x 1 inch high.
Gracefully domed towards the center, this hand crafted piece is detailed with applied Acanthus Leaves in the shape of an elongated navette.
The early safety clasp and broaching assembly are original to the piece.
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition with only minute signs of historic wear to note. This piece was executed with finesse. Original platinum broaching assembly remains sturdy and fully functional. A very nice heft at 8.7 grams by scale. Antique gemstones are not rated as modern cuts. Total carat weight .85 carats by gauge and formula. The Sapphires are intense blue and equate to sl/V/Bl 5-5. Diamonds (3) G-H color, I-1 clarity totaling .55 carat. Electronically tested to Platinum. There are no Markings, which is typical for this type of piece. Early 20th Century Edwardian. Likely of British origin.
