Fine 19th Century Solid Sterling Grape Shears/Scissors
A beautifully honed, hand crafted pair of sterling grape shears of solid silver - handles to blades. No steel used in cutting blades on these!
The shears are substantial at 132.38 grams by scale (nearly 4.5 ounces) measuring 6 5/8 inches long. They are elaborately detailed in lovely dimension. Handsome and elegant but not especially formal. These will be as much at home on a wooden or marble cheese board as they will in a silver fruit bowl and as usable daily as for more special occasions. I personally never serve grapes (even to myself) without a pair of these to cut off clusters at a time instead of picking away and leaving unappetizing stem bits.
CONDITION: In excellent antique condition with no damage and just age appropriate wear to note. Very well balanced and comfortable to handle. Markings: STERLING. We find no Makers' Mark. 19th Century, likely of American origin.
Our sterling smalls arrive clean and are beautifully presented. They are shipped at no charge to our clients.
One of the nicest pair we've come upon!
