Pretty Sterling Silver Grape Shears - Early 20th
An elaborate pair of Grape Shears are sterling silver with scissor steel blades.
The Shears are detailed in foliage and grape clusters with vine wrapped stems and barley twisted sterling arms. Measuring 6 inches long they are 3.5 inches across the handles.
CONDITION: In overall excellent vintage condition with no damage to note. Nicely balanced with a good heft at 56.52 grams by scale. No warping. Blades are scissor sharp and fully functional to snip through grape stems. Markings: Sterling and a W inside a box with over striking that is illegible to my eye. Likely of American origin.
Our sterling smalls are always well presented, nicely boxed and shipped at no charge to our clients.
Beautiful in any bowl of grapes on your table - and a lovely appointment to a mixed fruit bowl. I have a couple of pair of these and use them daily to prune off a cluster or two (because who wants to eat stubby looking grapes after they've been picked off one at a time!)
