The rarely found P for Plumb mark is stamped inside this beautiful ring. The lovely Japanese Akoya Cultured Pearl is encircled in two step rows of Diamonds (61 in all) in a yellow gold 14K Plumb mount with white gold tipped claws and a beaded bezel to set the Diamonds and Pearl.
A simple and elegant split shank mount. The top of the ring measures approx 15mm rising 9mm up off the finger to the top of the 6.5mm Pearl. Currently a size 6, we can custom size this ring up by as much as 2 full sizes or down by 1 size to suit without affecting the integrity of the mount.
CONDITION: In overall very fine vintage condition with only the light expected wear to the mount but no damage to note. We will have our jeweler polish this ring if we are sizing it - but in any case, certainly before it leaves here to present 'as new.' Pearl (a) 6.5mm, white with aubergine and green undertones, silver overtones. Round with good nacre and a fine bright orient and luster. Diamonds (61 and marked as such) VS-SI totaling about three quarters of a carat by gauge. Circa 1980-1985, likely of American origin.
An independent gemological appraisal is currently underway and will be provided for this ring on compleition.
Our fine gold rings are beautifully presented and packaged for safe international shipping.
A classic, timeless and elegant ring! This type of ring has oft been chosen as an engagement ring throughout time - the two circles of Diamonds rising to the Pearl culminating to the circle of life. (Similarly, this would be a perfect push present too!)

***Plumb Gold ( *K P ). Very rare mark but the P after the Karat designation means “plumb gold", which means the purity is EXACTLY as stated and does not allow any variation. Most unusual for jewellery. E.g. 14K P. The law to guarantee the purity of gold was passed in the USA in 1976 and came into effect just after 1980.
