Diamond Set Crescent Brooch - 15-16K, Victorian
A gorgeous little crescent pin measuring 1 inch is set with 15 mixed cut graduating Diamonds, claw set in pretty ruffled cups.
The diamonds are bright and fiery measuring from 1.65mm to 3.5mm at the center of the crescent. Crescent tests to 15-16K red gold while the tips of the crescent are platinum tipped on gold back.
CONDITION: Excellent. Original broaching assembly remains intact and fully functional. Early safety closure. Marks are all but worn. Testing confirms 15K-16K with platinum corners. Late Victorian - Edwardian, this dates to the late 19th, early 20th century. The hand crafted crescent is set with 15 bright graduating antique cut Diamonds range in size from 1.65mm-2.65mm (TCW .50 carat). The Diamonds are set in the Coronet 6 claw fashion, each one sitting in a fluted gold buttercup. The piece measures 25mm wide and the depth is 4mm.
