Gorgeous Baccarat Oceanie Vase - Retired
This is the original Baccarat Oceanie Vase designed by Thomas Bastide.
Today there are new versions of the Oceanie that have been introduced, and while lovely - none have captured the sensual and sculptural form of this one.
Crystal clear, with the beautiful sculpted base depicting the waves of the ocean and a gorgeous deep emerald green removable kaleidoscope centerpiece.
With the kaleidoscope in place the lines of this piece refracting against each other are a pure visual treat - either empty or with one perfect single bloom. Remove the centerpiece and I can't think of a better vessel to pack your Tulips into and watch them gracefully spill over the natural lines of the sides. Of course any flowers will work beautifully in this vase - but so few vases would actually work as well for Tulips!
The vase is 8" high (with the centerpiece in place) x 4" at the widest area x 2" deep.
CONDITION: Excellent. Pristine, with no losses, scratches or chips to note. Appropriate Baccarat acid etched marks on both the kaleidoscope and on the vase. This version is retired. 20th century Baccarat, France.
Classic, elegant and wonderfully timeless!
