Dating to the late 19th century/turn of the 20th century, this beautiful Double Albert chain is unusually long at 17" with a heft at 59.9 grams.
A classic hand crafted curb link measuring approx 6mm in width throughout has a matching 1" drop for the fob that can be incorporated to the length if you need the extra inch of length. We don't often come upon these longer than 14-15 inches so this is a particularly nice find.
The chain came to us with the shield fob I've left in place in case you want it - or we can remove it if you like them without fobs or have a favorite of your own that you want to wear with it.
CONDITION: Very fine antique condition with just the age appropriate historic wear but no damage, loss - or replacement links to note. Hallmarks are worn but I can make out the anchor for Birmingham and the Lion Passant for sterling. Fob Marks differ from the chain itself but are also British and from the same late 19th century era.
Our fine jewelry comes beautifully presented and shipped with Tracking at no charge to our clients.
We see many Albert Chains around --- but fewer and fewer complete Double Alberts come to market that are long enough to be worn as a neck chain. This one has a wonderful heft, width and length so if you've been after one - now may be your time!
