A very fine strand of Silver-Black Tahitian Pearls, ranging in size from 8.5mm-11mm.
There are 51 well matched, slightly graduating cultured pearls together with a 14K (tested) White Gold and Diamond set ball clasp. Wearable length is 20.75".
These pearls have a deep, lustrous silver top with black undertones. Nothing muddy or inky about them and nothing like the dyed or irradiated black pearls we see around. They have a fine, bright orient, thick nacre and an excellent high lustre (much higher than the pictures convey.) Well matched and rounded. Overall clean with minor blemishing. Newly restrung on silk with tight almost invisible knotting to sit evenly on the neck.
White Gold Diamond set ball clasp is unmarked and tests to 14K. Pearls are deep gray with bright silver overtones, very slight peacock and golden undertones (although the camera lens sees them as tonally diverse, they are to the human eye very well matched for color with only the subtle differences expected from un-enhanced pearls.) Good heft at 59.6 grams by scale.
These superb pearls likely date to the 70s or 80s. Acquired from a prominent NYC Estate.
An independent gemological appraisal will be provided for these pearls.
