This little basket is about the finest double weaving I've seen!
It measures 3.75" high to the top of the tightly fitted lid, and is about the same dimension at the widest point of the basket.
CONDITION: Excellent antique condition with the exception of a possible loss of 1 reed at the very bottom of the basket as shown in the photograph.
Tightly woven horizontal coil is beneath the vertical over weave. Lid fits snugly. Very slightly paler to one side, (Possibly sun bleached)? There were several small baskets and while I was carefully looking over this gem, another - not so friendly dealer grabbed all the others, holding them tightly to her bosom! I have no idea where this remarkable piece originated, but I found it at an estate sale of primarily English antiques.
In all - a superb little basket!
