Vintage vermeil polished sterling silver flying bird pendant on a 1mm gold filled paper chain link necklace.
The necklace is 16" long including the 2" wide by 1" long bird centerpiece. It is signed on the textured back Sterling with a conjoined JF in an oval cartouche and weighs 6.34 grams.
This is possibly the mark of Jerome Fleischer & Co. Providence, Rhode Island who were in business in the early 1900's. (reference is courtesy of the Silver Forum on 925-1000 from the the 1914 Jeweler's Circular "Trade Mark Book" It is shown again in Rainwater's "American Jewelry Manufacturers").
There is some loss of the vermeil on the top of the longer wing and a light patina on the bird which does not detract from this beautiful flying bird necklace.
