Elegant vintage nubby black silk evening bag with gold and silver metallic thread floral design on the front.
The polished goldtone frame is rounded with a goldtone snap closure and a goldtone curb link chain handle which fits inside the purse if you prefer to use the bag as a clutch.
The bag is 7" long (including the closure) by 8" wide and the chain handle is 13" long. The large round 'flower' has alternate gold and silver metallic threads interspersed with red and green threads around the edge and is 2" in diameter. The small round gold thread 'flowers' are 3/4" in diameter.
The lining is black silk or silky like fabric and also inside are two ticket stubs for the Metropolitan Opera at the Lincoln Centre dated January 1978 which dates the bag to at least this date or earlier.
This gorgeous evening bag is in excellent condition and looks like it has only been used on that one special occasion to the opera.
