This gorgeous set includes a recent 2015 Appraisal done by a certified gemologist. The earrings are appraised at 2700.00 and the necklace for 4000.00. The gemologist I chose does appraisals for Maynards our most distinguished auction house in Vancouver, I purchased the set at a Bav or Pawn Shop in Budapest Jun 2014. Went I traveled to Eastern Europe it was with the intention of finding a treasure from the Austro Hungarian Empire having fallen in love with this period. Both the romance and history.
Prior to the formation of Czechoslovakia following the end of the second world war ,the majority of lands in that region fell under the rule of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867-1918) owned and run by the mighty Hapsburg Dynasty, i fell in love with this set in the window of the pawn shop on a narrow cobble stone street in Budapest. Purchasing the set I was aware the price was over what I had planned to spend, little did I know how much it would be apprised for when I returned home. A gorgeous chain and pendant set with what I thought where garnets but are in fact a deep pink synthetic stone which is apparently not unusual in this period jewelry. The pearls are genuine seed pearls and the entire set is 18 k gold. The necklace is 18 inches around and fair retail value is $4000.00 CAD.
The earrings are for pierced ears (shepherd hooks) and match the pendant. I am leaving the entire set with the original patina.Earrings appraised at $2700.00 CAD.
It is noted on the appraisal that the set is unique and not easily replaced. I am open to offers on this set but please remember the history...
Layaway is available and the written appraisal is to be included in the price.
