As you can see, I had fun this pair of earrings. A turquoise colored Czech glass Sugar Skull bead, a chinese Turquoise rondelle and a blue ombré triple tassel makes for a dancing earring! A lot of movement and light-weight. Part of my spooky 'Day of the Dead' collection.
Turquoise is associated with gods and goddesses of many ancient cultures from China, the Middle East, and the Americas. It was worn by Pharoahs and Aztec Kings. Native Americans used the stone symbolizing the sea and sky coming together, to bless warriors and hunters. Turquoise is thought to attract prosperity and success, enhance creativity and communication. Turquoise is the alternate birthstone for December. Almost all turquoise has been treated with a transparent resin in order to stabilize it, as it is a fragile stone in an untreated state.
14K Gold-Filled (14K GF) beads are made by bonding a layer of 14K gold with high pressure and heat to base metal and then shaped as desired. Industry standard requires that the quantity of gold be at least 1/20th of the total weight and the Karat measurement must be marked.
Length: 5.25 inches from your piercing.
Bead size: 17 x 20 mm sugar skull; 5 x 8 mm rondelle; 35 mm long tassel.
