This pair of earrings made with a ceramic bead from Golem Designs from which dangles a blackened Pewter skull reminds me of the mummified skulls one sees in magazine stories of ancient tribes. The stone bead has an Aztec design and a red Coral decorated dangle holds the skulls. The silver-plated and blackened Pewter used to make these earrings are from the US and are lead-free. This pair of earrings are part of my collection of earrings for the Spooky season.
Coral beads have played a significant part in jewelry throughout history. People of many cultures thought that red coral provided protection from fire and violence.
