I have used a pair of grade A faceted deep blue Tiger Eye beads and a pair of gray-blue cultured freshwater pearls to create the 'Ocean'. A spiral Pewter shell charm hangs from each earring, and hammered silver-plated Pewter bead caps highlight the two sets of beads. All of this dangles from a pair of silver-filled ear wires. Simply charming!
Tiger Eye is an iron bearing Quartz. The quartz is in a fibrous formation creating parallel lines within the gemstone. Light shining on the stone seems to move across the surface of the stone, a phenomenon known as 'Chatoyancy' coming from the French word for cat. The pictures do not capture this wonderful display but it is characteristic of this gemstone. The stone was thought in ancient times to bring good fortune and protection from the 'Evil Eye'. Roman soldiers were known to wear Tiger Eye to battle for protection. It is the gemstone for the 9th wedding anniversary. The presence of Iron Oxide determines the intensity of the golden color of the Tiger Eye. The lack of or very little levels of iron oxide produces Blue Tiger Eye, which is also known as Hawks Eye, and is less common than Tiger Eye.
Length: slightly longer than 2 inches from your piercing.

Silver filled products are comprised of 10% silver, the silver is mechanically bonded to a brass core for a sturdy structure and is resistant to tarnishing. All ear wires from Sundancegems come with a clear medical grade PVC ear clutch or stopper. These fit snug on the ear wire, and prevent you from loosing your earrings. They will not tarnish silver.
