Preparing for the spooky season... here is a pair of one of a kind earrings! The focus is the skull bone bead. This bead is created like other bone beads from Africa, usually of cattle bone and colored using the batik technique. Areas of the bead that are to remain uncolored are waxed and then the bead is dipped in the dye. After the bead is dried the wax is melted off, leaving the desired pattern on the bead. The imperfections on the bead are due to the fact that they are handmade using traditional techniques handed down from generation to generation. These imperfections add to the beauty that is the bead. I have paired this bead with a gnarly Coral nugget and a mock Dzi agate bead. Long and fun, these earrings are sure to get you noticed!
Length: 2 and 7/8th inches from your piercing.
Bead size: 8 mm round agate bead; 14 x 18 bone bead; 12 x 12 mm Coral nugget.
