This bracelet is made from faceted rondelles of Red Brecciated Jasper, called Procelain Jasper. The gemstone has beautiful shiny shades of gray and creamy pinks and tan. It is easy to see why is it called Porcelain Jasper. I have used faceted squares of copper plated Hematite between the Jasper beads to add a touch of sparkle. Red Porcelain Jasper is mined in the Serra Madre Mountains in Sonora, Mexico. A single faceted Sunstone bead hangs at the toggle. Simple yet striking!
Jaspers have been used as ornamental and gemstones from ancient times. They are microcrystalline Quartz in association with a variety of other minerals which give the Jaspers colorful patterns and bands. Jaspers are often named according to its color or patterns.
