A dainty little paper slitter at a length of only 4 15/16", fashioned from gleaming white M.O.P. ocean pearl oyster (Pinctada maxima), topped with a hand engraved silver collar on which crouches a stamped and silver-soldered hollow-formed hedgehog. We know he's hollow rather than solid because, unfortunately, during his adventures in the last 100 years or so some predator managed to run off with his little tail, exposing the cavity within. Still cute, though, and looking for a safe home!
The MOP blade has a very tiny nibble to one edge, and a light buff would eliminate the spotty dullness from handling over the years, but we'll leave that chore to our small friend's next keeper!

Pearlescence and chatoyance predominate, with occasional amber, linens, china, and select "smalls".
