This Pennsylvania solid cherry 2 piece cabinet is called a Dutch cupboard. The top has a boldly designed cornice and each door has 6 individual panes of original early glass. The brass knobs swivel to open showing a wonderful original interior. There are 3 shelves, each having 4 plate grooves. The center shelf has cut outs designed for storing cutlery. The two lower shelves have plate racks for securing dishes. Below the doors is the desirable deep pie shelf. The base cabinet has 3 hand dovetailed drawers over 2 recessed paneled doors. The right drawer has an expertly replaced drawer bottom. The doors have their locks and inside is a single shelf. The lower cabinet has an additional board on the bottom. The cabinet rests on boldly turned feet. This handsome Dutch cupboard is in excellent condition having a warm color and very desirable patina.
