This walnut Victorian dresser is in the Renaissance Revival style. The tall central mirror has a boldly carved crest with applied panels of burled walnut along the sides and 2 small half round candle shelves. Notice the large carved rosettes below the candle shelves. The mirror comes off the base for ease in moving. The dresser base has 3 removable marble tops. There are 4 small drawers over 2 long drawers. All the drawer fronts have raised panels with applied burled walnut. The small drawers have carved key escutcheons and working locks. The larger drawers have unusual large carved key escutcheon, their original locks and original ebonized and brass pulls. All the drawers open and close smoothly. Notice how even the canted corners on the dresser have applied panels of burled walnut – a genuine sign of quality. There are recessed panels on the dresser sides and casters on the base. The finish is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina. 86.5"h X 52"w X 19.5"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1870's.
