This pair of mahogany stands or end tables is also referred to as half commodes. The term half commode refers to their size in which they are half the width of standard washstands. Each stand has its original shaped marble top. Look closely and you will see a small chip on one corner of a stand and a minor chip and repair on another. Each has a hand dovetailed drawer with a delicately turned wooden knob and a cabinet base with a raised paneled door front. All the gold highlighting is actually brass trim which is a very unique and classy feature. If you look closely you will see two 5” pieces of brass trim missing along the bottom shelf. The stands rest on their original casters. Their finish appears original and is in excellent condition. What a treat to get a matching pair! 34"h X 17"w X 17"d, Condition: Very Good, Circa: 1870's.
