This set of 6 solid walnut dining chairs was made by the prestigious Feldenkreis Company, Philadelphia, PA. There custom made chairs are in the Adams or Hepplewhite Federal style. The back has a shapely crest rail and an intricately pierced carved center splat. Notice the delicately carved shield, acanthus leaves and draped swags. The generous sized seats have a serpentine shaped front. Notice the delicate inlay on the seat rails and along the front legs. The narrow tapered legs are reinforced with cross stretchers which provide additional strength. All the chairs are extremely tight and sturdy. Their seats will require reupholstering. The chair seats are easily removable and can be addressed by any upholsterer. The chairs retain their original finish which is in excellent condition. These chairs would work well with a variety of tables that we currently have in our inventory. 30"h X 20"w X 20"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1920-1940's.
