This custom made, centennial mahogany game table is in the Federal or Sheraton style. Furniture from the Centennial period is a result of our 100 year celebration as an independent nation resulting in an appreciation and revival of earlier styles. Check out the dynamic graining in the mahogany wood. The shapely top has a reeded edge which opens up and lies back exposing a 36” square top. A back leg swings out to support the top when using as an opened game table. The sides of the table are curvaceous and accented with burled mahogany. There is a narrow delicately carved molding along the bottom edge. The tapered spiral twist legs are boldly carved and end in brass capped feet with casters. The finish appears original and is in excellent condition having a deep, rich color and patina. There are a few slight dings and rubs, which are to be expected, but nothing offensive. 29.25"h X 36"w X 17.5"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1870's.
