This solid mahogany 4 door bookcase is in the Chippendale style. Notice the rope or gadrooned carvings along the top edge. Each door has 4 individual panes of glass and their original working locks. The bookcase presently has no shelves but we are arranging to have a total of 6 made; 3 on each side. The shelves will all be adjustable. The total price includes the ordered shelves. The bookcase rests on finely carved ball and claw feet. The tops of the feet have carved acanthus leaves. The finish appears original and is in excellent condition. The top has some minor rubs which is to be expected. The front left foot has an inside toe missing which is not immediately noticeable. The back feet also have some toes missing. This handsome bookcase is extremely well made and will make a statement in any home or office. 51"h X 62"w X 15"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1890's.
