This Eastlake Victorian corner cupboard has many unique features. The solid walnut cabinet has a delicate spindle gallery. The cornice has carved stylized leaves. The mirrored beveled glass doors retain their original brass escutcheons and working lock with key. Inside are 2 adjustable shelves. Below is a door with three recessed panels. Check out the finely carved center panel of scrolling vines with leaves surrounding a resting bird. The other two panels have burled walnut fronts. The door drops down to reveal a writing surface with a professionally replaced felt covering like the original. Inside is a center ‘document door’ with 2 smaller drawers and 2 cubbies for storage. The door retains its original brass key escutcheon and working lock. There is a hand dovetailed drawer with burled walnut, carved stylized flowers and its original fancy cast brass pulls, key escutcheon and lock. Below that are 2 doors with recessed burled walnut panels and its lock. Inside is a single adjustable shelf. The cabinet will require at least 24” wall space on each side of the corner. The finish is in excellent condition having a rich, warm color and patina. 72"h X 38"w X 16"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1870's.
