This solid walnut Victorian pedestal is in the Renaissance Revival style. The shapely burled walnut top has a carved and molded edge supported by two arms and an ornately carved center column. Notice the incised carvings on the scrolled arms and legs and on the applied cut out panel. The pedestal rests on a shapely burled walnut platform with applied carved rosettes. There is a small area of burl loss measuring roughly ½” by 1” on the platform. This is only noticeable upon close inspection. The pedestal rests on 4 carved feet. The finish is original and in excellent condition. The pedestal is extremely sturdy. 36"h X 20"w X 13.5"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1870's.
