This 6 drawer spool cabinet displays its original J.P. Coats advertising. The walnut and cherry cabinet was originally designed to hold the various threads manufactured by J.P. Coats and sold in country general stores up to the 1900. Notice how some drawers are stenciled white, black and colors indicating their location in the cabinet. Amazingly, the drawers retain their original Coats brass pulls except for 2 of them. One is a homemade replica and the other has its back plate but missing its drop pull. All the drawer bottoms have been professionally replaced. Two of the drawers have their original dividers missing. Both sides of the spool cabinet have their manufacturer’s stenciled name which is worn from age. The back of the cabinet has its stenciled and painted logo which is in remarkable original condition. The cabinet has an older finish which is in very good condition showing expected wear from use over time. Its size and multi drawers would serve a multitude of purposes such as a coffee table or end table. 20"h X 24"w X 18"d, Condition: Very Good, Circa: 1880's.
