This large marble bust was sculpted by the famous Italian Antonio Frilli (1860-1920). The elegantly shrouded woman is titled “Beatrice” and his signature, A. Frilli, Firenze is located on the back. A superb Florentine artist who maintained his own gallery, his works were known throughout Europe and the United States. Her features are beautifully executed and her shroud displays delicate designs within the folds which seem to float and cascade around her. The bust is in excellent condition. The base measures 10.5” wide by 6.5” deep. 24"h X 19"w X 11"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1890's.
