This walnut bookcase is in the Eastlake Victorian style. The bookcase comes apart in 4 main pieces for ease in transporting. The center section has a wide cornice with a carved moulding and an applied burled walnut scalloped trim. Notice the applied burled walnut panels framing the original glass. The center door has 4 adjustable original shelves which measure 23” wide by 13” deep. Each side door has additional burled walnut panels above and below their original glass fronts. Inside, each has 4 adjustable shelves measuring 17” wide by 11” deep. All the doors retain their original cast brass escutcheons and working locks with 2 keys. The stepped out base has 3 drawers with burled walnut fronts; their original cast brass pull; key escutcheons and working locks. There is a 3” chip in the trim just below the right side drawer. This is only noticeable upon close inspection. The bookcase rests on its original double casters. The finish is original and in very good condition. 79.5"h X 65"w X 20"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1880's.
